We work very closely with the Rochdale Council of Mosque’s (RCoM), Rochdale Faith Together, Rochdale Council and the Greater Manchester Police.
Rochdale Milaad Committee organises 10 daily events during the Islamic month of Muharram and 12 daily events during the Islamic month of Rabbi ul Awwal.
On the 12th day of Rabbi ul Awwal there is a parade known as the ‘Jaloos’ which takes place from one of the member Mosques to another.
These daily events are attended daily by 500 to 1,000 people. The Jaloos has a bigger turn out and about 4,000 to 5,000 people Muslim and non-Muslim participate. The Jaloos is on 12th day of the Islamic month Rabbi ul Awwal which is the birthday of Prophet Muhammad SAW.
